'Real Housewives' couple return to MB City Hall
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Another chapter of drama for a South Florida reality star couple and the fight over their Star Island mansion unfolded on Tuesday.
"Real Housewives of Miami" star Lisa Hochstein and her husband, Dr. Leonard Hochstein, appeared once again at Miami Beach City Hall. The couple recently won a ruling that approved their mansion's demolition, but now the Miami-Dade Reservation League is appealing.
"I think that their appeal is without merit," said Dr. Hochstein. "I'm particularly upset their attorney stretched the truth, which is, I guess, what you have to do when you don't have the law and facts on your side."
The attorney for the Preservation League found fault with the Hochsteins' claims. "It was based on junk science, untested and unreliable," said Kent Harrison Robbins he said of the decision to allow the couple to demolish the mansion.
The Hochsteins argue their mansion is too unsafe to remodel, but the League is fighting to preserve the home. A City of Miami Beach Special Master will make the final decision.
