Woman attacked and robbed while jogging
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have released surveillance video in hopes of catching the attacker who robbed a woman while she was jogging at night.
According to police, the victim was jogging on the 9800 block of Northwest 28th Street on June 7 at around 3:40 a.m.
A man seen captured on surveillance video wearing a gray hoodie and shorts, approached the woman from behind put her in a choke hold.
The suspect removed the woman's MP3 player and asked for her cell phone, which she did not have at the time. The suspect apologized to the woman and ran off east towards Coral Hills Drive. "She blacked out for a few seconds and she had struck her face on pavement causing some injuries to her face and nose," said Coral Springs Police Sgt. Carla Kmiotek. "He was still over her trying to get more property and he asked her for her cell phone and she said, 'I don't have a cell phone,' and then he said, 'Sorry, I just need the money,' and took off."
