Bullets hit 8-year-old and teenager
MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police are investigating a shooting that wounded a little girl and a teenager, Sunday night.
Monday, the 8-year-old girl and the young man, who is believed to be between the ages of 18 and 20, remain hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital, recovering after gunshots ripped through a community near Northwest 12th Street and First Place, sometime late Sunday night.
According to police, those shot were outside an apartment building when bullets were fired into the courtyard of that apartment building. The child had been staying with a babysitter in an apartment at that building, and girl's mother had come to pick her up after finishing a late night shift at work. They were walking home when the took a bullet to her right buttock. The mother was not hit.
Miami Police said the teen, meanwhile, was shot in his right arm. Their conditions are unknown at this time, but the injuries they suffered were not lift-threatening.
Police are currently looking for a red pickup truck that was travelling southbound on Northwest First Place.
