Heat ticket prices skyrocket for game seven
MIAMI (WSVN) -- The hottest ticket in town right now is for a seat at game seven.
Get ready to pony up if you want to see a game of rather historic proportions. Not since the Marlins' World Series game seven in 1997, has another ticket to a sporting event in South Florida been as in demand.
Ticket prices for the winner-take-all competition between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs have been priced as follows, according to one ticket broker. Note, the following are minimum expected prices from ticket broker White Glove International, and they could increase:
Tickets in the 400 Level: $400+
300 Level: $600+
100 Level: $1000+
Courtside: $25,000 - $35,000
Delwin Liranzo, of White Glove International, said he cannot even say how high prices could climb. "I've never been a part of a game seven, so I don't know. I can't answer that question for you ... I want to tell you that maybe it's high, and then it could drop a little bit, but with it being a game seven, we could run out of tickets today. I have no idea what to expect."
One man said he would pay whatever it takes to get inside the arena and see the series' conclusion in person. "Anything ... I have in my wallet two credit cards. Maybe I can get the ticket?"
If there's one lesson to remember from last night's game it's that if you get a ticket stay in your seat. Some Heat fans lost hope as early as the third quarter and then missed one of the most amazing comebacks in sports history. They were locked out, left to bang on the doors and watch the Heat's resurrection on screens.
If you want to get a ticket to this in-demand game, visit www.heat.com at 2 p.m. There will be a limited amount of tickets available as well as the box office, Thursday morning. Again, at the box office, expect a very limited amount of tickets.
