Surveillance video captures gunman robbing Metro PCS store
NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A gunman was caught on surveillance video holding two employees at gunpoint at a South Florida cell phone store.
It was a terrifying moment for Katherine Zaensi and another employee when a man walked into the Metro PCS store in Northeast Miami-Dade and demanded money. "It was definitely my first encounter like that, so to me, it was more of a shock," said Zaensi. "I just didn't know if the gun was filled, if he was crazy or if he was gonna get nervous and shoot ... I had no idea."
The crook could be seen on video pushing both women into the back of the store looking for more cash. "Once we go to the back, he says, 'Give me the money, give me more money.' In the back we don't have more money we just have a safe," said Zaensi.
Zaensi said the man started to get nervous when he was running out of options. "He grabbed the DVD recorder, and he starts pulling out plugs and he says, 'Where are the cameras?' but I don't even know where the cameras are," she said.
Zaensi said, after the incident she quit her job because she was too terrified. "I know it happens in a lot of places, but I rather take myself out of the situation," said Zaensi.
If you have any information on this gunman, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
