Man killed, teen injured in separate Hollywood shootings
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Two separate shootings rocked the City of Hollywood Friday night, one of which claimed the life of a man in his twenties, authorities said.
Police are searching for a gunman in connection to the deadly shooting, officials said. Authorities said they began receiving calls reporting shots fired in the area of 28th Avenue and Jackson Street around 9:15 p.m.
Police and fire rescue crews arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. The victim was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Officials said police are now looking for a subject who fled the scene in a black Honda Accord.
That same night, a 16-year-old male was shot in another incident that took place in the area of North 66th Avenue and Johnson Street. Police set up a perimeter in the area, and investigators said they do not have a subject in custody.
According to police reports, a witness stated he saw a white male, with a white T-shirt over his face, fleeing from the area.
The victim in this shooting was also taken to Memorial Regional Hospital and remains in critical condition.
Investigators said they believe the second shooting is unrelated to the one that occurred near Jackson Street.
