Teen struck by lightning released from hospital
COOPER CITY, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida teen injured after lightning struck the tree he was climbing has been discharged from the hospital.
Fifteen-year-old Stefan Marton was released from Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Tuesday afternoon. He and a friend were sitting on a large tree in their Cooper City neighborhood Thursday afternoon when the lightning strike caused both teens to fall through branches.
The lightning bolt threw them 20 feet to the ground. Marton said he was conscious when he fell out of the tree.
He sustained a head injury and fractures to his back.
