South Florida family arrives to ransacked home
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A family returned from vacation Monday to find that their home had been hit by crooks.
The family had taken a trip to Cuba but never expected to return to find their house ransacked and destroyed.
The homeowner, remaining anonymous for fear the crooks will return, was left speechless and barely able to walk through her own home. "I don't have words to explain what happened in my house," said the owner. "I don't know what happened. Somebody came here to disturb my house."
Portraits were taken down from the walls and thrown throughout the house, mattresses overturned and holes punched into the walls.
The owner said she has no enemies and has no idea who could have committed such an act. "I don't know what these people were looking for," the owner said. "I don't have money, I don't have nothing."
The homeowner did have some money hidden in the home, but that money is now gone. Jewelry and electronics were also taken. "Now I don't have nothing," the owner said. "They take my money, they take all that I have here."
If you have any information on this burglary, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
