Miami artist paints with child patients
MIAMI (WSVN) -- Artist Ed King dropped by a local children's hospital to paint with the young patients.
King was at Holtz Children's Hospital where they created two pop-out originals, which will be hung in the oncology unit.
He and the staff are hoping the colorful paintings will brighten up the days for patients during long hospital stays. "They're here sometimes weeks, months, multiple times. They can see the project they're a part of. It kind of changes the energy of their experience here in the hospital. It makes it more positive, and that's what I want to focus on," said King.
His visit is part of ArtCares for Kids, an art-on-the-walls project designed to visually enhance the oncology unit with paintings by local artists.
