Funeral plans set for South Florida teen
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A viewing for Israel Hernandez has been planned for Tuesday at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes, followed by a burial Wednesday.
The 17-year-old was tased by a Miami Beach Police officer after a foot chase. Police spotted him painting graffiti along Collins Avenue and 71st Street in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning, and Hernandez fled.
Hernandez collapsed following the jolt from a Taser gun by the officer.
He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The FDLE has opened an investigation into Hernandez' death.
