Father creates faith music to cope with son's lost
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida man is using his music to help him cope with the pain of losing his 4-year-old son.
Antwan Jr.'s body was found in his mother's Coral Springs apartment on June 10. Investigators have deemed his death suspicious.
His mother, 23-year-old Destiny Simons, investigators said, suffers from physiological problems.
Antwan Hope has jumped into work and is working on his grief to produce Christian rap music. At Hill City Music, they produce faith-based music. "I'm singing it to him as well and to let him know that daddy's OK, that daddy is fine and I'm going on a journey to get to him," said Hope.
When Hope was asked about the mother of his child, he said, "I don't hate her. I pray for her. I just live day to day and take it step by step and let God deal with her."
The medical examiners office is expected to rule on a cause of death this week.
"My son is what matters to me. My son was everything, and because he's gone, nothing else matters," said Hope.
