Radio station gives out back-to-school supplies
MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida radio station offered a helping hand as students prepare to head back-to-school.
WEDR-99 Jamz handed out 1,000 backpacks to children at the Joseph Caleb Center in Miami on Thursday.
The book bags were packed with all sorts of school supplies. "If you look in the crowd, I see potential judges. I see potential state representatives, potential firefighters," said Progressive Firefighter Association Charities spokesperson Keith Bell. "The potential is here, and we just want to make sure we're giving back to our community."
In addition to backpacks and supplies, the boys were treated to free haircuts and the girls received complimentary manicures.
