Man in critical condition after hit-and-run
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (WSVN) -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a pedestrian was struck and left on the side of the road, early Saturday morning.
According to police, around 4:15 a.m. a blue or gray Volvo travelling southbound along Krome Avenue and Southwest 184th Street struck 51-year-old Wirt Patrick Cotter. The driver then fled the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol said, the Volvo could have front-end damage to the passenger side. "If, in fact, there was a somebody in the area around 4:17 a.m. and saw something, we encourage you to come up and say something," said FHP Trooper Rivera. "There were clearly some severe injuries."
The victim remains in critical condition at Kendall Regional Medical Center.
