2 men hospitalized in double shooting
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Broward Sheriff's Office deputies blocked off several streets at a South Florida neighborhood as they searched for the person or people responsible for a shooting that sent two men to the hospital, Sunday.
Investigators said the incident took place just after 8 p.m. on the 4400 block of Northeast Fourth Avenue in Deerfield Beach. BSO deputies responded to the location and set up a perimeter that prevented area residents from getting to their homes, including teenagers scheduled to begin their school year Monday morning.
"I can't go inside my house because they won't let anybody in," said 13-year-old Scatiana Desilus, who lives in the area. "I asked [deputies] to escort me to my house; they won't let me. The crime is too gruesome for me to see."
Fire rescue crews transported the victims to Broward Health North in unknown condition.
Authorities have not divulged the circumstances that led to the shooting as they continue their investigation. They have not revealed whether they are looking a single shooter or multiple gunmen.
