Teacher arrested after writing sexual messages to students
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida teacher has been arrested after using social media to allegedly lure her students for sex.
"I don't want you to fall in love with me, but I also don't want you to hit it and quit it either." Those are the words the Broward Sheriff's Office said 31-year-old teacher Stevie Glasspool wrote to a 17-year-old male student while teaching English at Mavericks Charter High in Pompano Beach.
According to the arrest report, Glasspool also wrote the student on Facebook: "Your body is amazing." "I wish you were single." "You should spend the night." "You will be graded on your performance." "For the first time you will do all the work and be graded, you may earn 100 percent." "I have marijuana for us to smoke."
The inappropriate messages were allegedly sent between April and May of 2013. The boy told his parents who then contacted BSO. "She was not shy as to what she was asking these young men to do or to come over to her house or specific acts that she wanted to do," said BSO Sgt. Aimee Alexander.
Christian O'neill says he is the 17-year-old student who was on the receiving end of sexually charged Facebook messages from his former English teacher. "After talking to her for 30-45 minutes she basically said, 'Oh, I want you to come over to my house. Do what ever you want to do to me,'" said O'neill.
"She told me to come over she was like, 'Oh, I got green,' as in I have weed. "We can have fun. You can spend the night if you give it to me like you say you can, then I might want more,'" said O'neill.
Students said she was a normal and quiet teacher. "I got along with her good. I don't know really anything about that other stuff," said a student.
Glasspool was terminated from the school in May and started teaching sixth grade at Hollywood Academy of Arts and Science.
Detectives said there are three other boys who they know were involved in this case but believe there may be more victims. "We believe there may be more victims. She might have solicited other students prior to this and even after this, seeing she wasn't successful in getting any sexual activities from these young men," said Alexander.
"She also did the same thing who just turned 15, now by all means what ever happens to her happens to her cause that's not normal," said O'neill.
Glasspool was arrested at her Boca Raton home on Thursday night. She is being held at the Palm Beach County jail on $25,000 bond.
