Local man charged with hate crime
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (WSVN) -- A 30-year-old South Florida man was arrested and charged with a hate crime after he allegedly picked a fight with two men and kicked their dog.
According to police, Alexander Gomez-Jimenez was arrested Sunday after fighting with two men as they walked a dog. During the incident, he allegedly repeatedly shouted that he hated Cubans as he kicked their boxer-breed dog.
Gomez-Jimenez who is no stranger to jail was out on bond for almost half a dozen cases ranging from possession of marijuana, to trespassing and criminal mischief.
As a result of this latest incident, he faces two counts of battery/hate crime and tormenting an animal.
He is now being held without bond.
