Lawn equipment allegedly stolen from home
MARGATE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida family is offering a reward to help catch the thieves who, they said, stole thousands of dollars in lawn care equipment.
Julian and Shonda Tenza said the expensive items were taken from outside their Margate home, along Northwest 68th Avenue and Second Street. "Somebody took the truck and the landscaping equipment inside the trailer," said Julian Tenza. "We're talking about ... ride-behind mowers, chainsaws, blowers, edgers, weed wackers."
The homeowner added the alleged thieves literally stole his livelihood. "I'm just devastated because this is pretty much my life, my lifetime savings," said Julian. "I work really hard for what I have. Unfortunately, right now, I got no more equipment to keep going."
The Tenzas said they are so desperate for answers that they're willing to offer a cash reward and a job for information leading to their equipment. "We're talking about $30, $35,000," said Julian. "We just come day by day and try to feed our family with what we do. Working out in the sun, not everyone wants to do it, but we provide a service and keep our company running."
If you have any information on this theft, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
