Barricaded man fired shots at police; no injuries
HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police along with the SWAT team are on the scene after a man has barricaded himself inside his South Florida home.
This incident occurred at the corner of East Seventh Avenue and 32nd Street in Hialeah.
At around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, 81-year-old Everardo Buznego barricaded himself after he reportedly shot a crossing guard in the buttocks with a BB gun. "Well he doesn't come out, we force our way in with an arrest warrant that we got from a judge now and when reach the door he starts shooting at us," said Hialeah Police Department spokesman Carl Zogby. "So now we've retrieved back and we are approaching this in a whole different way."
Police have not had a violent history with Buznego, but have responded to at least 30 disturbance calls in the last several years.
No officers are injured. Police are negotiating with Buznego.
Police have evacuated several homes in the area as a precaution
