2 workers injured on the job
MIAMI (WSVN) -- Miami Fire Rescue said a pair of construction workers were injured while working on an apartment building, Thursday morning.
The accident happened just north of 79th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. Miami Fire Rescue Lieutenant Ignatius Carroll described what happened. "Some plywood that was being lifted off of the second floor landing on some apartment buildings that are under construction was being raised up by a crane, using nylon strapping to lift it up, and as they were getting ready to lower it down, that strapping malfunctioned, dropping several pieces of plywood onto two construction site employees."
Paramedics transported the men to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. According to Miami Fire Rescue, they are expected to be OK.
The incident is under investigation.
