1 daytime bandit arrested, 2nd suspect still at large
MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police have arrested one of two men who, they said, broke into several homes in a South Florida neighborhood this week. His alleged partner in crime remains at large.
Authorities took 38-year-old Johnny Carvajal into custody and charged him with burglary in connection with the incidents.
Two other people who were in Carvajal's car at the time of his arrest, 40-year-old Jacqueline Garcia and 39-year-old Howard Jaime, were also arrested and are currently facing charges unrelated to the break-ins.
Investigators said Carvajal is one of two people caught on a surveillance camera breaking into homes in the Roads neighborhood. At least three homes within blocks of each other have been hit since Monday.
"Detectives continue to investigative the cases, while one suspect remains at large," said Miami Police spokesperson Kenia Reyes in a statement.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of the second suspect, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
