2 injured in crash with 3 dump trucks
DAVIE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Two people were injured when three dump trucks collided with two other vehicles at a well-traveled intersection, spilling diesel fuel and debris from the trucks on the roadway.
The collision took place Thursday afternoon on Griffin Road, east of State Road 7. One of the tanks on one of the bigger trucks ruptured, causing diesel fuel to spill out on the road.
One victim was transported to Broward Health Medical Center with minor injuries. The second was treated at the scene.
Traffic on Griffin Road was shut down in both directions at State Road 7 as cleanup crews work on clearing the spill. Motorists were encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Crews had to block off one of the storm drains on Griffin Road to prevent the diesel fuel from going into the ground water.
All five vehicles involved in the accident were later towed from the scene.
