Child dies after falling from second-story
HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- The South Florida toddler who fell out of a second-story window last Friday has died.
Police have confirmed 2-year-old Luis Enrique Rodriguez, Jr., passed away Friday morning after falling 14-feet onto the pavement from the El Paraiso Motel in Hialeah.
The family was staying at the motel while work was being done at their home. The mother said she turned her back for just a few seconds while she was washing plates, when she turned back around she noticed the little boy was gone and the blinds had been moved.
Both parents, 26-year-old Luis Enrique Rodriguez and 28-year-old Jacqueline Sanchez, were arrested after evidence of narcotics were found in their motel room. They are facing charges of child abuse. However, charges may be upgraded now that the child has passed away.
The incident remains under investigation.
