Armed robbery suspects in custody after crash
LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. (WSVN) -- Two suspects are in custody after an armed robbery ended in a crash.
Just before 4 p.m., officials responded to a call of an armed robbery at 3449 NW 19th St.
As deputies arrived on the scene, the suspects fled in a car. Shortly after, they lost control, crashed into a wall and bailed out of the vehicle. Police soon caught up with the two suspects. One was transported to Broward Health Medical Center and a second is in custody.
Police first believed the robbery involved three suspects, which led to a perimeter being set up after the suspects fled. Officials shutdown the perimeter shortly after they determined there were only two subjects involved.
Authorities previously closed down Northwest 19th Street between 31st and 35th Avenues, Friday afternoon. The roadway has since reopened.
