Local kids attempt to form longest conga line on ice
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A group of South Florida kids were hoping to break a world record in the name of cancer.
September is childhood cancer month and dozens of kids grouped together in Coral Springs in attempt to form the longest conga line on ice.
One of of the organizers from Kids of Love, a high school freshman, came up with the idea when he was just 8 years old. "I realized, at a young age, I was lucky and blessed not to have cancer, and I wanted to help kids who were stuck at the hospital who did. Now, we don't just help cancer. We help kids with any debilitating disease," said Randall Slapikas.
Attendees were not able to break the record due to a one-hour delay that forced many to leave early. However, Kids of Love will still be submitting the video to the Guinness Book of World Records.
