Local BJ's donates hundreds worth of diapers
HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida wholesale club is giving back to the community with diaper donations.
The BJ's located at 8005 N.W. 95th St. in Hialeah donated $8,000 worth of diapers to the Family Resource Center, a non-profit for children in need.
The organization serves children of all ages who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. "Children who are under 5 are more likely to be abused, so we actually have a very big population on little kids and babies," said Torit Matthews with the Family Resource Center. "This is such an amazing contribution to provide diapers to all of our caretakers."
Hialeah BJ's manager Janet Liriano said, "This is an item that is very expensive and very needed. From the bottom of my heart, I feel very fortunate that BJ's was able to do this."
The good deed is part of the BJ's Blessings Program, where the company chooses a non-profit organization and makes their wishes come true.
