Viewing set for fallen BSO deputy
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Family, friends and colleagues will give a final farewell to the Broward Sheriff's Office deputy who died as he headed to work.
Ten-year veteran Daniel Rivera lost his fight Saturday. He suffered severe injuries a couple weeks ago after crashing his cruiser in Pompano Beach.
Officials said Rivera was trying to exit the highway when he lost control and hit a tree.
A viewing will be held Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church on 138 Northeast First Street in Pompano Beach.
His funeral will be held Friday morning at the Calvary Chapel along Northwest 24th Way and West Cypress Creek Road, at 11 a.m.
