Live Like Bella foundation gives away Marlins tickets
MIAMI (WSVN) -- The Live Like Bella Foundation teamed up with the Miami Marlins to give away 100 tickets to the Marlins vs. Philadelphia Phillies game to the local youth.
Bella Rodriguez-Torres was 10 years old when she lost her battle with cancer back in May. The foundation was formed by her parents to raise money for pediatric cancer research. After her parents encouraged people to "Live Like Bella" the phrase went viral when several Miami Heat players wrote #LiveLikeBella on their shoes in 2012.
Her family is now carrying on her strong spirit and encouraging others to Live Like Bella. "It's remarkable, today marks 17 Tuesdays since Bella left us here on Earth, and to see the amazing support not only from the Marlins, but from the entire community being here tonight. It lets me know with great certainty that she's here with us, smiling down from heaven," said Bella's father Raymond Rodriguez-Torres.
Fans will also be able to purchase Live Like Bella T-shirts at Marlins Park. The money raised will help funding for pediatric cancer research.
