Police search for sub shop bandits
DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for two men captured on surveillance video footage robbing a South Florida sandwich shop.
The Aug. 23 footage shows the perpetrators entering and robbing the Subway located near Northwest 106th Avenue and Seventh Avenue in Doral.
According to detectives, the cashier was in the rear of the business when a co-worker alerted him about the subjects, who were about to enter the restaurant wearing bandannas over their faces. The co-worker exited through the back of the business, and the cashier walked towards the front as the subjects were coming in through the front door.
"One guy jumped the front counter, and the other stood out with a gun," said the employee. The security video captures audio of the alleged robbers ordering the cashier to open the register and threatening to shoot him.
"One did all the work," the employee continued. "He ran to the back, took the money, had them open the register. He had us take out all the money; they made sure not to touch anything. They knew what they were doing."
The footage shows the subjects exiting the building. Police said they fled with approximately $500 in cash.
Investigators identified one of the perpetrators as Stephon Patterson. Both subjects have been at large since the robbery.
