'Suspicious' fire breaks out at restaurant
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Firefighters are investigating arson as a possible cause of a blaze that ripped through two adjacent restaurants.
"Tough to say if it's hate crimes, you know, vandalism," said Liran Hassin, "or someone that's out to hurt any of the Jewish businesses out here."
The Hollywood Fire Dept. was dispatched to the Achla Pita Grill and Bon Ami Cafe early Sunday morning.
It is the third such fire in two years at the plaza near Sterling Road and Northwest 56th Avenue. "If it was anti-Semitism, where am I going to run to?" said Michael Katz. "I can go to another plaza, and if they really want to target my store, they can come and get me there."
Business owners said nothing was taken and no hate messages were left behind. However, they hope to see security increased around the shops.
