Former special needs teacher accepts plea deal
DAVIE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A former South Florida special needs teacher has agreed to a plea deal after being accused of abusing two children at a special needs camp.
David Baier, 50, pleaded guilty to child abuse and cruelty charges, Monday.
He received five years probation, surrendered his teaching license and must enroll in anger management classes.
Baier was arrested at an alternative school in Davie last August for abusing two boys-- 9 and 12 years old-- who have autism.
Cameras caught one of the incidents back in August 2012. Baier can be seen on video slamming a 12-year-old boy to the ground, then threatening to punch him at the alternative school.
Three more alleged victims have since come forward.
