Woman accused of voter fraud strikes plea deal
MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida woman accused of voter fraud made a plea deal, Tuesday.
Deisy Cabrera pleaded no contest in court in exchange for one year probation. She will be unable to participate in any politics during that period.
Cabrera is accused of illegally collecting at least 31 absentee ballots for the primary election last August. Officials said she even filled out a ballot for a nursing home patient who was unresponsive with a brain tumor.
