Reports: Dolphins rejected to host Super Bowl 52
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) -- According to reports, the Miami Dolphins were rejected again to host a Super Bowl in 2018.
The Dolphins had applied for Super Bowl 52 at the NFL meetings this week in Washington.
According to reports, late Tuesday afternoon, the NFL told the Dolphins that South Florida, Tampa and Dallas did not make the final cut.
The other cities bidding for the game in 2018 are New Orleans, Minneapolis and Indianapolis. Minneapolis is building a brand new stadium.
The owners will select the winner during spring meetings on May 19 through 21 in Atlanta.
If this all sounds familiar, it should. The Dolphins lost out on the Super Bowls in 2016 and 2017 when they could not get public funding to help renovate their stadium. This raises the question: will the Dolphins go back to the State Senate for money at some time in the future to attract a Super Bowl?
