Family believes dog was stolen from outside home
HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida family is heartbroken and hopes someone can return their precious Yorkie home.
The last moments the Toledo family saw their Yorkie was on surveillance video. Until a few months ago, their dog Olivia was an abused dog. "She has no teeth. Her body is kind of deformed from being abused and being in a cage and not being able to walk around," said dog owner Anjelica Toledo.
Toledo said Olivia learned to live life with a loving family and two other Yorkies to run around with. "She's just kind of dorky, and I don't know, I was just happy that she would get so excited over the smallest things," said Toledo.
On home surveillance video, the 4-pound Yorkie is seen running across the driveway towards the inside of the gates and then sits at the end of her driveway. "The car saw that it was a dead end and was making a three-point turn," said Toledo.
A red car is seen driving near Olivia. By the time the car drives away, the dog is not seen on surveillance video anymore. "We went looking to see [if] maybe she went into the neighbor's yard," said Toledo. "The car picked her up cause they saw her as a stray, or they took her."
Without a collar or microchip, the Toledo family has not seen Olivia since last Sunday. The only clue they have is the red car seen on surveillance video. "I just hope that wherever she is that she's OK, but I just want to find my dog," said Toledo.
The Toledo family is not accusing the red car of stealing their dog. They are only hoping someone will find her and return her home safe.
If you see this Yorkie, you are asked to take it to a shelter or call police.
