3 arrested in high-priced crime spree
NAPLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- Three accused criminals have been arrested in a bust that stretched from Miami-Dade County to Collier County.
Nancy Aguilar, her husband, Salvador, and her brother Idalberto Arias are from Miami, and they were taken into custody after allegedly stealing up to $100,000 in watches and jewelry from Julie Kukk's Naples home.
The victim never received her belongings despite the arrests, since the trio quickly pawned the stolen items. "We did drive to Coral Gables, but they melted everything almost immediately," said Kukk. "I was angry. I think most people feel violated, but I didn't feel violated. I was mad."
Investigators said the group ransacked at least 30 homes between 2011 and 2012 and sold off at least $2.1 million in diamond rings, Rolex watches and gold coins to a fake pawn shop in Miami.
