Absentee ballots mailed for upcoming Miami-Dade elections
DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Absentee ballots are in the mail for an upcoming special election.
Nearly 200,000 absentee ballots were sent out for the Nov. 5 general election in Miami-Dade County.
Voters will decide whether to approve upgrades at Jackson Health Systems funded by general obligation bonds.
Also, residents in Hialeah, Homestead, Miami and Miami Beach can vote on their municipal races and questions. "We want to remind our voters to make sure they sign their ballot. A postage stamp is no longer necessary," said Miami-Dade Elections spokesperson Christina White. "[There's] no reason to give your absentee ballot to anybody. Voting should remain between elections department and our voters."
Voters have until Oct. 30 to request an absentee ballot. The deadline to submit is Nov. 5.
There is also early voting and the option to vote on election day.
