40-pound turtle rescued in Islamorada
ISLAMORADA, Fla. (WSVN) -- Florida Fish and Wildlife officers in Marathon have rescued a 40-pound turtle who was unable to dive due to a leg tumor.
The officers were called Friday after a boater spotted the reptile but could not get it onto his boat.
They said the turtle, who they have named Pat, would have not survived much longer had it not been rescued.
