Good Samaritans paint, repair elderly woman's home
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Several Good Samaritans rolled up their sleeves and went to work on the home of a local senior citizen, giving the South Florida residence some much-needed TLC.
Volunteers with the organization Rebuilding Together Broward painted and repaired 93-year-old Jeanette Bennett's home on Northwest 22nd Avenue and 13th Court in Fort Lauderdale, Saturday.
Bennett said she has lived there for the past 50 years. "My husband was dying quite a few years, then he died four years ago," she said. "Will be four years in December. He never was able to do [any home repairs]. I wasn't either. We both were old people."
The organization's mission is to improve homes and lives of low-income homeowners.
