MIAMI (AP) -- Philanthropist and University of Miami trustee Adrienne Arsht is giving the university $5 million to support ethics studies, eye research and other programs.
The school says Arsht's gift of $2 million to the university's interdisciplinary Ethics Programs is the largest ethics gift in Florida history and follows a $1 million gift she made in 2006.
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute will receive $1 million for research into retinal degeneration.
A university spokesman says the rest of the money will be spent "across the board."
