Disabled man hospitalized after falling onto Metrorail tracks

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A wheelchair-bound elderly man is recovering at the hospital after he accidentally fell onto the Metrorail tracks Friday morning.

Officials said the man misjudged where the platform ended at the Santa Clara station at Northwest 12th Avenue and 20th Street.

Train service was delayed for 45 minutes until officials were able to pull the man out.

Paramedics transported him Jackson Memorial Hospital where he is expected to be fine.
