WEST BROWARD, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida man is recovering after a boating accident left him trapped in the Everglades.

Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade Air Rescue conducted an extensive search for Jack Farley after he crashed his boat along the Miami Canal.

Farley said he was testing his new boat when he lost control of the vessel. "I was moving pretty good. My hat started to get sucked off my head, and I grabbed for it, and I'm still going straight, and there's a big turn there on the other side of that bridge, a hard left. I didn't make it," he said.

Farley suffered minor scrapes and cuts to his arm and face.
