Luxury items for less at U.S Department of Treasury auction
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- The U.S. Department Of Treasury will be auctioning seized items on Wednesday.
The auction will take place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the VSE Warehouse located at Northwest 11th Avenue and 159th Drive.
If you want it, there is a pretty good chance it will be at the auction. Platinum watches, jewelry, generators and sports cars are some of the items up for bid.
Auctioneer Richard Hall said many people might think the items are out of their price range, but they may want to think again. "We are going to see, for the first time, some prices that people can actually afford," Hall said. "I think with the new economy we are not sure what is going to happen."
For the bargain hunter looking for that good buy, especially with the holidays coming up, clearly this a good opportunity to get those luxury items for less.
"If the economy is bad, as I think it is, and I think it is, it is a good opportunity to be buying stuff," Enrique Pollack said.
Officials expect a great turn out and urge potential buyers to register early. "I think that we are going to see a good 300 to 400 people possibly at the auction," Hall said. "They really should come to the preview tomorrow to kill two birds with one stone and register early while they are here."
