MIAMI (WSVN) -- The Miami-Dade School Board has scheduled a meeting to vote on the budget Tuesday.

In order to balance the $158 million deficit, 440 jobs will be cut.

Superintendent Alberto Carvalho expects many of those employees to remain in the school system when others retire or leave.

The board is also expected to consider terminating contracts with five charter schools serving the African-American community.
