Police investigate robbery in progress; possible hostage

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police are on the scene of a situation where someone might be held hostage.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department an apparent robbery in-progress took place at Northeast 10th Street and Ives Dairy Road.

"We saw a gentleman come out with a gun, a couple of cops come out really fast. They blocked off our entrance. The homeowner came home and from my understanding they now have him as a hostage in one of the homes," said a witness.

A man was handcuffed by police, but it was unconfirmed if he was related to the situation.

Police continue to investigate.
