3 dead after train collision in central Florida
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- The Florida Highway Patrol says three people were killed when the car they were riding in collided with a passenger train in Orlando.
FHP spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Miller said two men and one woman died Friday when a northbound Amtrak passenger train collided with the four-door, 1994 Buick sedan around 7 p.m. Their names have not been released.
Authorities say the car went airborne and landed more than a hundred feet away.
Miller said one passenger in the car was partially ejected and pinned under the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims were pronounced dead at Orlando Regional Medical Center. A fourth passenger survived and was taken to the hospital.
