Family escapes from burning home

Cooper City, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities said a family escaped flames when their home caught fire Sunday.

According to officials, the fire started in the home's garage near Southwest 48th Street and 120th Avenue.

A mother and her three children escaped unharmed when one of the residents heard a loud bang before noticing the flames.

Firefighters cut through the garage door to douse the flames.

Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked the fire.
