South Florida neighborhood endures power outage

South Florida neighborhood endures power outage

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Power in a South Florida neighborhood has been restored after a storm knocks down several power-lines.

According to FPL, strong winds blew a tree onto a pole, taking wires down and effecting 53 customers in the area of 3860 Northwest 4th Place.

Crews responded to the area quickly, and restored power around midnight on Sunday.

Families waited patiently at home for the power to be restored. Ms.Taylor said, "I'm not doing anything. I'm just waiting until it comes back on."

Families used what they had to adjust to the dim circumstances. "There hasn't been any light. We've basically just been trying to use this lantern and the one right here to get around," Taniesh Oxford said.
