Fire crews battle warehouse fire

Fire crews battle warehouse fire

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Miami Fire Rescue responded to a warehouse fire that laid ruin to a booksellers' business.

Miami Fire Rescue said flames engulfed an unoccupied warehouse near Northwest 71st Street and Eighth Avenue.

Investigators said the building's excess insulation fueled the flames. The fire leaped over to an adjacent book storage site, burning more than 30,000 books. Officials said the intense flames caused the ceiling to collapse.

The President of Reading Junki said everything in the building was lost in the fire. "Basically everything. Books, computers, shelves, books that we were planning on donating, shipments that were supposed to go out today for the Christmas holiday. Basically everything," Windy Pierre.

The owner of the store said he is trying to retrieve information on his computers so that he can rebuild his business.

No one was inside at the time. No injuries were reported.
