Suspicious package in front of school board building filled only with clothes
MIAMI (WSVN) -- A suspicious package that someone discovered in front of the Miami-Dade School Board building turned out to be a duffel bag full of dirty laundry.
Miami Police and the bomb squad detonated the bag at about 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Authorities were not sure what is inside the bag or package, but they took every precaution. Police had to close down Northeast 15th Street between First and Second Avenue.
School employees reporting to work had to go to the School Board Administration Annex building located at 1500 Biscayne Boulevard.
Soon after the detonation of the bag, all roads were reopened, and school employees were back to their routine schedule for the new year. The building was closed for about two hours.
