City settles with family who lost loved one after collision

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A long awaited suit has been settled for a South Florida family that lost a loved one two years ago.

Relatives of Donald Perry will receive $65,000 from the city of Fort Lauderdale after the 49-year-old man was struck and killed by an unmarked police car in March 2007.

The detective driving the car was on his way to a call at the time and has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
