Motorist escapes car submerged in canal

COOPER CITY, Fla. (WSVN) -- A man was able to walk away from his car after it plunged into a canal early Thursday.

When Broward County Fire Rescue crews arrived at the scene on Sterling Road just west of Flamingo Road, the driver was already out of the canal.

The man did not require transportation to a hospital.
